The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1994 at Burapha University in response to
the rapid growth of Eastern Industrial Estate. The aims of the Faculty are to produce human resources who posses expertise in engineering field as well as
to provide technology consultations and technical services. The Faculty has firstly offered programs in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering with
effective staffs from the university and industries. Over the past decade, the undergraduate programs have extended to various engineering fields including
Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. At present, undergraduate students in the Faculty are required to complete 4-year
course work including practical training course. The undergraduate students are offered a training course in several industries due to the Faculty linkage
and collaborations with the industries. Recently, the Faculty has launched national and international Master Programs in Industrial Engineering, Engineering
Management and Chemical Engineering in accordance with local industrial requirement.
To produce graduates of high quality, capable of creative and original thinking, whilst embracing high moral values with which to serve the community.
To provide an applied body of knowledge that continues to embrace technological advances and to ensure that the community is served in the fields of higher education and research.
The Faculty of Engineering consists of 5 departments, namely
The application of mathematics, chemistry, and other natural sciences to the design, control, and improvement of chemical processes utilized for transforming raw materials or other resources into more useful value-added products is the definition of chemical engineering. Besides, the modern chemical engineering is engaged in the development and production of a diverse range of projects such as energy saving and renewable energy in sustainable ways.
Industrial engineering is a combination of basic engineering knowledge and quantitative analysis techniques to support managerial decision making. It is concerned with the efficiency in which work is performed by machines and people. Industrial engineers utilize knowledge and principles in manufacturing systems and processes, operations research, ergonomics, and evaluating the results obtained from such systems.
Civil engineering is the oldest engineering profession. It involves building and maintaining the basic infrastructures. Broadly, civil engineering deals with the planning, construction, and maintenance of fixed structures as they related to earth, water, or civilization and their processes. They are five main fields of specialization, namely structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics engineering, transportation engineering, and construction management.
Electrical engineering is the study about analysis and design of any systems related to Electrical Theories. The department aims to produce engineers with sufficient basic knowledge in diverse major fields of electrical engineering, which include Electronics, Electrical power, Computer, and Telecommunication.
Department’ s mission is to prepare students for professionals and scholars covering all of the core disciplinary areas of mechanical engineering, including applied mechanics, mechanical system design, automotive engineering, air conditioning systems, energy conservation and thermal systems, and automation and CAD/CAM.
