Burapha University is a strategic university of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) that plays a pivotal role in the development of the EEC, the university’s management team has devised a strategy for human resource development for the EEC, known as EEC Human Development Center (EEC HDC)., to meet the needs of target industries in the EEC area. It aims to become an innovative university in the Eastern Region, fostering research endeavours that can be commercially beneficial and address the demands within the EEC. Currently, besides curriculum development and cultivating new generations of professionals to meet EEC’s demands, the university also collaborates with networks of both public and private educational institutions, as well as industries, to transform Thai education towards a “new era of education” that produces personnel in line with the Demand Driven approach, aligning with the urgent need for personnel in the EEC area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education management, based on the Demand Driven approach, aims to promote educational programs in a format that meets the needs of entrepreneurs. This is known as the EEC Model Type A. The objective of this model is to involve entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the development of curricula, joint investment, support, and even post-graduation internships. Educational institutions collaborate with entrepreneurs to develop curricula that address the real needs of the industry. Many institutions are currently adapting their programs to align with this model, which involves inviting entrepreneurs to participate in various curriculum development activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, there is also the aspect of human resource development, which is another urgent necessity. The method used is the implementation of short-term training courses, known as EEC Model Type B. In this mission, it encompasses not only reskilling existing industry personnel to align their skills and knowledge with new requirements but also upskilling final-year students who are about to enter the industry workforce. This involves enhancing their skills and knowledge beyond what is specified in their original curriculum, ensuring they have the right skills to meet the demands of modern industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
