On February 9, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Watcharin Gasalak, President of Burapha University, presided over the welcoming ceremony for Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Minister Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan, together with a delegation of scholars from universities in Kazakhstan. The occasion marked a special lecture titled “Central Asia Explained: What Makes the Region Unique and Why It Matters to Thailand”, held at Burapha University International College (BUUIC).
The lecture was jointly organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan, and Burapha University International College, aiming to strengthen academic exchange and enhance understanding of Central Asia’s significance to Thailand.
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Watcharin Gasalak, President of Burapha University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Krittiphat Pitchayadechanan, Dean of Burapha University International College, joined the Minister Counsellor in a tree-planting ceremony. This symbolic activity represented the strong academic cooperation between Burapha University and higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable international academic collaboration.
