We are incredibly proud to share that our 14-delegate team from the Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University has just returned from HealthForge 2026: The PHOENIX Hub Healthcare Innovation Challenge at Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), Philippines — and what a week it was.
For nine days (July 6–14, 2026), our faculty, researchers, and student innovators collaborated with Philippine teams inside the RISE Tower, Valenzuela Campus — competing in a healthcare hackathon, producing research outputs for international publication, benchmarking world-class laboratory facilitie, and building the kind of cross-border partnership that lasts well beyond a single event.
Our students didn’t just participate in the hackathon — they competed inside mixed Thai-Philippine teams, presenting real healthcare-technology solutions to an international judging panel. Our faculty didn’t just attend a workshop — they sat in research groups with OLFU colleagues and walked out with co-authored manuscripts in motion, targeted at indexed international journals.
And when Typhoon Inday disrupted the onsite closing ceremony on the final day? OLFU-RDIC rebuilt it virtually — overnight — and not a single delegate missed a moment. Our own Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornchai Jullamate delivered his closing keynote through the screen with the same conviction he would have brought to any stage.
The typhoon came. The PHOENIX rose anyway.
A heartfelt thank you to OLFU-RDIC Director Dr. Michael Joseph S. Dino and his remarkable team , to the Philippine Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and to every colleague, student, and partner who made this week what it was.
FON-BUU came as a delegation. We return as family.
